Bramble puts the missing guide in the guest's pocket. A map of the estate opens in the phone's browser from a QR code at reception. As guests walk, the map follows them, and each story appears at the spot where it belongs.
Why we built this
Estates put decades of work into their grounds, and most of that story goes untold. Paper maps get left in rooms. Audio guides sit unused at the front desk. Guests walk the obvious route and leave without knowing what they missed.
A map on the guest's own phone solves most of this quietly. There is nothing to hand out or collect back in, and each story arrives exactly where it belongs, out on the grounds.
How it works
There are two ways to end up with a map, and the only real difference is who does the writing.
You can build it yourself. Put each stop on a map of your own grounds, either from a desk or by walking out to it with a phone, write a paragraph for each, and publish. Thirty days free, no card, and the map is live from the moment you make it.
Or we walk the grounds with you and choose the places worth a story. You share the history and the folklore; we write each one up, take the photographs, record the narration and set it all in place. That is the done-for-you service, and we quote it before we start.
Either way a guest scans a code and the map opens in their phone's browser, and each story unlocks when they arrive at its spot. A stop might be a tree, a view, a gate in a wall, or the site of something long gone. If it has a story, it belongs on the map.

What we believe
Guests forget the room long before they forget the walk. Estates and hotels take enormous care over everything indoors and then hand people a folded paper map at the door, which is the point at which the experience stops being designed. The grounds deserve the same attention as the dining room.
Whatever does that job has to be something the guest already has in their pocket. Nobody downloads an app for one afternoon, so the map runs in the browser: scan the code and you are walking. It should also know where they are standing, because a story about the ice house is worth ten times more at the ice house than it is sitting in a list on a menu screen.
The rest is yours. The stories come from the place, and from whoever knows it best, which is never us. That is why a new map starts completely empty, and why we would rather a head gardener wrote it over three evenings than have us invent it for them.

Properties where the grounds are part of the visit. We have written about four in particular: historic gardens, wedding venues, farm parks and attractions and country hotels. If guests already ask about the history of the place, a story map will earn its keep.
Do guests need to download an app?
No. The map opens in the phone’s browser from a QR code. There is nothing to install, and nothing to hand out or collect back in.
What does it cost?
One published map is £1,500 a year or £150 a month, plus VAT, if you write it yourself, or from £5,000 plus VAT if you would rather we walked the grounds and wrote it for you. The pricing page sets out what each includes.

What happens to my map if Bramble stops?
We are a small team, so you are entitled to ask. If Bramble ceases to trade we give at least ninety days’ notice, refund the unused part of anything you have paid, send you everything you put in, and freeze every published map as a static copy at the same web address for a further twelve months, so printed scan codes go on working. It is written into section 12 of the subscription terms.
